Hello, everyone, my blog is back! I will provide useful
information on stretch, massage, exercise, nutrition, and your health. I hope
to help you with this information and to guide you to resources for further
learning.
Many of you are starting exercise programs for the new year,
hoping to lose weight and get fit. You may have good intentions but your body
may not be prepared for new activity that places stress on little used muscles
and joints. If you get injured or can’t perform as you’d like, you may quit
your exercise program. As a stretching expert and Nationally Certified Personal Trainer, I can help you. Today I will explain how resetting your muscles using
gait therapy enables long-term exercise program success.
Analyzing your gait and posture often leads to an
understanding of why exercisers experience pain, injury, and poor performance.
Simply put, the structural alignment of your body can work with or against your
efforts. You can reset your posture and alignment through walking with your
weight distributed evenly, keeping your core balanced. The next step includes
healing stretches. These stretches are fast, continuous and active but not
strenuous. Lastly, practice slow, isometric stretches to help your muscles rebound.
While resetting your muscles through walking and stretching can help you to perform better, you must practice good nutrition, drink a lot of
water, and get the proper amount of sleep for your body to function at its full
potential. Read my book, Stretch for Sports, to understand the specifics of
gait therapy and resetting your muscles for full benefit. The book and
accompanying DVD demonstrate specific stretches for your program. Visit my
